Developmental Edit (.012/word)
A developmental edit is a “big picture” edit. Many authors skip this, choosing to focus on the nitty-gritty details of grammar and mechanics, instead, but this is perhaps the most important part of your book. This type of edit will help you figure out how to hook your readers and keep them invested, make sure every scene moves the plot along, ensure you’ve adequately built your world, ensure strong character development and bonds between characters, comprehensively illustrate plot arcs and backstories, and so much more. You’ll receive extensive marginal comments, as well as a lengthy editorial letter.

Copyediting is sometimes thought of as proofreading, but it’s so much more! Here, we check for the following:

One of the earliest steps in writing a novel is alpha reading. An alpha is a trusted individual who reads through and provides feedback for the rough draft of a book in all its typo-ridden glory, commenting on areas of improvement and areas that you excelled at.
